What Power BI is
Power BI is Microsoft’s business intelligence platform. Power BI Desktop is where data is modeled and reports are designed. The Power BI service is where they are published, shared, secured and refreshed for the rest of the organization.
The part that decides whether a Power BI rollout succeeds is the data model. A clean semantic model makes reports fast, keeps the numbers consistent from one report to the next and lets people answer new questions without starting a new project. Copilot in Power BI depends on that same model to give useful answers.
